Classic SBTB: From Nurse To Worse

This classic episode of Saved By The Bell is built around Zack asking Kelly to become his steady girlfriend. In the 90s this was a big deal to make it official, probably because of this episode.

It was common knowledge that all Zack ever wanted was to make Kelly his girl, in the official sense of the word and nothing could stand in that way. Well, almost anything. Imagine a goddess carved from imagination. She would have dark, flowing hair and a smile that you could live on for weeks. And then she’d have the most beautiful name in the world, Nurse Jennifer.

See, at Bayside, Zack had only been exposed to girls. But with the addition of Nurse Jennifer, Zack was ready to experience a woman.



Zack decides to make his move on the nurse by faking a stomach ache and getting sent to the nurse. It is interesting to note that students at Bayside don’t need a hall pass.

Anyway, things take a turn for the worse when Zack’s friends fill Nurse Jen-Jen in on Zack’s betrayal. So, she decides to break the news to Zack that they can only be an item if he is willing to stand up to her husband who is a professional wrestler and, “Hulk Hogan says he could be the champion, except for his violent temper.” Hulk would know, he’s known for out of control and unprovoked outbursts.

By the time Zack has a chance to come to his senses and realize he was giving up the hottest girl in all of Bayside for what was probably only one of the hottest top 15 nurses in SoCal, it’s too late. Kelly has found another romantic interest and Zack must start from scratch to win Kelly back. A tough price to pay but a valuable lesson learned.

Oh, and the award for the best wardrobe of the cast goes to none other than Screech Powers.

Newt Gingrich is an old name that some may or may not know depending on your age. Newt was the Speaker of the House during the 2nd Clinton run and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. But the funny thing about that was Newt was doing a little hanky panky on the side himself!

However, I think its important that we only criticize Newt for his hypocrisy and not his personal choices. Truth be told, his pimping skills are to be commended.

Newt's first wife was his high school Geometry teacher whom he had a crush on, which, I don't have to tell most men, is pretty awesome.

The 1990's were a time of violence in the world of hip-hop and anybody that's anybody in the rap game caught a case. It was a right of passage. The passing of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur didn't cool matters. While "beefing on wax" was always a part of the culture, hip-hop continued to spiral out of control in the streets, offices, and the night clubs.

Jay-Z was no different as he fell into conflict with a friend and colleague, Lance "Un" Rivera. The spark for the feud is unknown. Jay-Z says it was over the bootlegging of his 1999 album Volume 3...Life and Times of S. Carter but Cam'ron has made reference to Jay-Z and Rivera's altercation as a result of a love quarrel over female rapper Charlie Baltimore.
